Freud is mindblowing!

Let me just say this--- My love life sucked before I read this book! Freud's brilliant analysis and explanation of how certain men are predisposed to prefer women who have a "dubious" character and the likelihood of them cheating actually enhances sexual attraction between couples, as well as his conclusion that men need to view women temporarily as nothing more than a sex object, for the time being in order to succeed in lovemaking, to "degrade" her, if you will, while maintaining a healthy respect for women in general, are ideas that few are daring enough to voice or acknowledge, but are the fundamental underpinnings of the human psychology. Just look at the long list of past and present adulterers, from Bill Clinton to Tiger Woods to Elliott Spitzer to Arnold Schwarzenegger to countless others, and you will see this problematic dual nature of male psychology so vividly documented and portrayed by Freud here. His brilliant essay " Civilized sexual morality and modern nervousness" rings true at many levels. The restricted, orthodox upbringing of both the male and the female child and the resultant marital/sexual problems due to a failure of reconciling the "sensual" and the "affectionate". Just Brilliant!
