Kelly and Margo have done an exceptional job making this tough and boring topic really simple and interesting

As a Massage Therapy business coach, I will be recommending this book to all of my students. Kelly and Margo have done an exceptional job making this tough and boring topic really simple and interesting! I even learned a few things like: "business intent" -basically when we can be dumb and when we have to be legit. I had no idea that the IRS set out averages for our industry (1.4% for advertising) and when we are way over this, it could potentially send up a red-audit flag. Then there was the usage of the word "trade" over 'barter............definitely needed to know that. A kid labor deduction?? Who knew? I can't wait for Kelly's new book, "Quick & Dirty Bookkeeping" coming out later this year.

EXCELLENT Reference guide for a masseuse, spa owner or small business owner!

This is a fantastic reference guide on deductions that you would use in your everyday business! The authors did a phenomenal job of teaching the reader about general tax jargon without making it unapproachable or intimidating to the reader. It was great learning about what I can and can't deduct without having to consult a dictionary or the IRS website to decipher the terms. Very appreciative of this!
As it's currently tax season and I'll be working on my taxes, I'll definitely be referring back to this handy guide to ensure I'm in line with what's allowable. Again, I love how reader-friendly and helpful it is without being overwhelming!

GREAT BOOK FOR MASSAGE THERAPISTS!

I teach business at a trade school and, no matter how hard I try, the material is very challenging for students. I recently came across Bowman and Bowers book entitled “Can I Deduct That?” It is absolutely fantastic - short, easy to read, covers the main areas of bookkeeping, taxes, business entities, how to work with an accountant, not to mention clear explanations of why or why not certain purchases are deductible.
The material is well-written and easy to understand. Already, I've gleaned several ideas I can use this tax season. Yes, it’s already paid for itself several times over. I highly recommend this great book! FIVE STARS!
